To All the Bush Dogs...

... and Blue Dogs in the House: every time you think you're doing the right thing, I lose more of my rights, Bush gets more of what he wants, fat corporations get a free ride, and you end up looking to the rest of the country and the world like scared pussies.

Why is that so difficult to understand?

Remember the old saw, "your failure to plan does not constitute an emergency on my part?" Well, the national security version of that is, "your pissing in your pants with fear does not constitute even the slightest dampness in mine." You be afraid of al-Qaeda. You be afraid of George Bush. You be afraid of his mighty rumpness, Dick Cheney.

But, don't make your pants-pissing shame ours. The "Protect America Act" doesn't need renewal, and the only way we're ever going to know what BushCo.has done in the last seven years of spying on us is for citizen lawsuits to go forward against the telcoms.

But, for heaven's sake, don't justify a vote for Bush by saying you've got an obligation to "protect" your constituents. That's horseshit, purely and simply. The only protection going on here is protecting Bush's administration from exposure. Just be honest about it. Just say, "I'm scared shitless by George W. Bush," and then, admit the truth: "he's a lot smarter and much more honest than me."
